Glimpse is a personal planning and activity-scheduling application that helps you view your schedule, find available time, and add activities or plans to your calendar.
1.Connecting Google Calendar
You can optionally connect Google Calendar during Glimpse onboarding or from Settings. After you complete Google's OAuth consent flow, Glimpse displays events from your connected calendars alongside events created within Glimpse. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Settings.
2.What the Integration Does
- Displays upcoming Google Calendar events in a unified calendar.
- Shows which calendar owns each event and whether it can be modified.
- Helps identify open time and avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Creates Google Calendar events when you save an activity or create an event.
- Reschedules writable events when you drag them to another time.
- Deletes writable events only after you swipe and confirm deletion.
- Modifies or deletes only the occurrence you select in a recurring series.
- Makes the same connection available to the Glimpse conversational planning agent when you explicitly ask it to review or manage your schedule.
Read-only calendars are shown for scheduling awareness. Glimpse does not attempt to modify their events.
3.Google Calendar Permissions
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events
Glimpse uses this permission to display your Google Calendar events and provide planning and availability features. When you explicitly request an action, it also allows Glimpse to create events, reschedule events through drag-and-drop, and delete events after confirmation. A read-only event permission would not support these features. Glimpse attempts writes only on calendars for which Google reports that you have write permission.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly
Glimpse uses this permission to read the calendars to which you subscribe. This lets Glimpse identify the calendar that owns an event, determine whether it permits modifications, send updates to the correct calendar, and read the primary calendar's time zone for accurate scheduling. Glimpse does not add, remove, rename, or modify calendars in your calendar list.
4.Google User Data
Glimpse accesses only the Google Calendar information needed for its visible scheduling features, including:
- Calendar identifiers, names, access roles, and time zones.
- Event identifiers, titles, start and end times, locations, status, and availability.
- Recurring-event occurrence identifiers needed to update the occurrence you select.
OAuth credentials are stored server-side and associated with your authenticated Glimpse account. Calendar information may be stored as linked schedule or busy-time records when needed to display your calendar, prevent conflicts, and synchronize changes.
Calendar information is made available to the conversational planning feature only when you explicitly ask Glimpse to review or manage your schedule. Service providers may process information as needed to deliver the Glimpse features you request, subject to Glimpse's agreements with those providers.
5.Disconnecting and Deletion
When you disconnect Google Calendar, Glimpse removes the stored Google OAuth credentials, connected-calendar metadata, and imported calendar busy-block records associated with that connection.
